Somebody Had Better Look At This Closely
I recently read an article discussing a Russian initiative which resulted in the launch of the first floating nuclear power plant which will be moored off of its coast. It apparently plans to launch many more of these and even sell them to other countries. The article was patently anti-nuclear but it did raise some questions. There is nothing innately wrong with the concept, there are plenty of nuclear submarines and surface ships in operation and they are just essentially floating power plants. However, they are also very manoeuvrable and can get out of the way of hurricanes, and perhaps even tsunamis. Would these new power plants have the same capability? If not then maybe the idea of additional plants should be left on the drawing board.
